Melanie Cook is an illustrator and digital artist currently based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Recent work includes storyboards for the US TV series Reef Break (Disney, ABC Studios and Touchstone Pictures) and Canadian feature films Pyramiden and Trust/Fall (Famous Red Car Pictures); TVC boards for Ridley Scott Associates (US), Cask Productions (UK) and Sons and Daughters (Canada); concept designs and pitch boards for the Australian aerial delivery company Flirtey; comic art and colours for AAM Markosia; and concept art for the award-winning science fiction short Payload. Her short comic, Lorikeet Lodge, was published by the independent literary journal Exposition Review.
In 2010, Melanie was awarded a place on Screen NSW’s VFX Placement Scheme, which saw her work at the Sydney-based animation company Flying Bark Productions. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Television from Bond University.
Combining the impossible and the realistic, Melanie’s work opens doors onto worlds with a rich sense of time, place, character and narrative.
